  2. Greetings from Finland

Hi Kristen, I am Patrik, 53 years young, feeling like 35 . I travel a lot in my work and otherwise - love it. I watched a few of your vlogs from Finland and from Canada - by mistake - and I got hooked. Your approach in presenting things is right on, and the best thing is that you really know what you are doing and talking about. You don´t - like many others - have any prejudgments or lack of knowledge about things and where you are. I just love your open mind and freshness to what you do. And you are absolutely gorgeous yourself - don´t tell anybody . If you ever visit Finland again -in the summer- just look me up. Me and my wife will invite you to our island, and maybe we go sailing too. Keep up the good work and travel safe!

  6. Southern California Beaches

I remembered you brought that the both of you were coming out to SoCal in the Airstream soon to escape the winter. Good choice. haha. It'd be fun to see both of your takes on SoCal beaches. There are so many to choose from. Hope you enjoy the area.
  7. Hello from Southern California!

Hi, everyone! My name is Kathryn and I'm a 26 year old Ravenclaw primarily based out of Southern California. As someone who was raised in an airline family, I moved around a lot when I was little but it's nice to finally call SoCal my main home stay now since that's where family is too. Found out about Kristen and Siya's work through Raya and Nadine's posts. I love going through travel material whenever I can't be on an adventure. Can't wait to see this forum continue to grow. Happy October!
  8. United States National Parks

Great idea Anna! We are already planning some of the parks we'd like to visit. Are there any you have in mind?
  9. Hello All

Hello my names Pooja and I'm from England. I've just come back from a 5 month trip around Asia, which was amazing! Had the best time ever and learnt so much. Gutted to be back and I'm really feeling the travel blues right now!
  10. I'd love to see Kristen and Siya do a series on US National Parks. Especially since they'll be spending the winter in LA, they'll be so close to many parks. I know there is already a lot of content on this topic, but i'd like to see their perspective.

superb idea! So fabulous. very informative lets connect to the globe village. There is a large number of fascinating sights in this tremendous, dynamic city. Most importantly, you’ll need to look at Buckingham Palace, regardless of the possibility that just to take a gander at it from outside, and on the off chance that you time it right you can see the Changing of the Guard. The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Tower of London and Westminster Abbey are in a flash conspicuous notable images of London. There are the exuberant markets, for example, the notable one at Camden where numerous a deal can be found, and beautiful road entertainers in Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square. Investigate the city’s terrible past at the London Dungeon, and see massive dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum. For astonishing perspectives, move to the highest point of St Paul’s well known Dome or take a ride on the London Eye. For a fun day out with the children, go to the edges for a visit to Chessington World of Adventures or LegoLand in Windsor, which offer an assortment of rides. http://www.tripindicator.com/view/attractions/london.html

  13. Hey everyone ! My name is Matthew Tasker and I've been in and out of the travel sphere all my life but it became one of my biggest passions back in 2015. I'm originally from Northern England but my parents moved out to the South of France back in 2004 when I was 11. I guess that the combination of living in various different cultures and my travels have opened me up to all the possibilities beyond what our society dictates. I'm so glad to have met Kristen and Siya twice (once at Vidcon 2015 and the 2nd time at the first LTA Summit in January 2017) and I can wholeheartedly testify that they're some of the nicest people I've ever met. I've been working hard all summer in order to kick-start my biggest adventure yet. On October 13th 2017, I leave Nice, France and set off on my first ever round the world trip. I'm passing through the UK, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, South Korea and Hawaii. Then after Hawaii, I'm headed off to California to meet up with some of my LTA friends to attend the 2nd Live The Adventure summit in Kern Valley. I can't wait to see everyone again and I've heard that a certain pair and their airstream Luna will be there . After the summit I might go to either San Francisco or Mexico City (or both ), then I fly back to London. I could have ended the trip there but I decided to add a detour to Gibraltar and Marrakech, Morrocco. I'm so excited : 44 days, 9 to 10 countries and all this for about $850-900 plus a few frequent flyer miles ! Who says travel is expensive ? Looking forward to chatting with you guys (and if you're interested in seeing my adventures, check out my channel here : https://www.youtube.com/user/matthewtasker)
  14. Hellllllo!

I would actually love that. I have a lot of questions and will have many more once we actually get the land.
  15. Hey everyone

I'm Alexis, my family are Canadian but I've not yet been to Canada I was born in Northern England. I home school my autistic son who is now 14 and travel managed to change his life for the better. He can now communicate and will talk to others which before he wasn't able to do. I still have family living Near Duncan BC so one day I'm hoping to finally get over that way. I love to travel and being outdoors, camping, climbing and caving are always on my hit list where ever I end up. Hope everyone else is good. Can't wait to talk to more travelers. Does anyone else travel with children?
  16. Hi! I'm Ben CG, and I make travel videos! I also sometimes recommend music, video games and talk about my life.

  17. Best Ways to Grow from Scratch

Thanks for creating the forum Kristen! Figured I may as well join for networking purposes. My travel (and other things) channel is currently just short of 200 subs and I'd like it to grow based on bringing people and opportunities into my life, so ad revenue isn't a priority for me. I was very interested in your course but I wasn't sure if I could still pay for it in instalments like before, I couldn't seem to find the option to specify that. Did something happen?
  18. Hellllllo!

My friend lived in Ethiopia though I haven't been. Tanzania is next on my radar as my sister and I are going to try to climb Kilimanjaro! *fingers crossed* Love the idea of your commune/community garden. I was the Director of an (anarchist) worker's cooperative back in Canada, so I'm definitely into/familiar with communal working and living. More than happy to chat sometime and share the ins and outs of back-breaking organic farming
  19. Best Ways to Grow from Scratch

There are so many factors. What do you hope to gain from your channel? Is this something you wish to have as a hobby or grow as a business? Nadine Sykora (Hey Nadine on YouTube), Matt Kepnes (Nomadic Matt) and I created a video course that teaches you how to start and grow your YouTube channel. We include a lot of great information in the course based on everything we've learned over the past 7+ years. You can check it out here: https://superstarblogging.nomadicmatt.com/travel-video-course/
  20. Hellllllo!

Hi Chris! Nice to meet you. I'm so jealous you're in Kenya. Siya and I both want to travel there in the next year. I'd also love to go to Ethiopia. Have you been there? Also, so cool about how you used to farm in Ontario!!! Man I need to pick your brain. We are looking to buy land and build a commune and of course have a massive community garden. I love the idea of growing my own food. Thanks for sharing a bit about how you are with us and looking forward to connecting. - Kristen
  21. Hellllllo!

Hey everyone! Chris here, a Canadian that lives in Sweden...that is currently in Nairobi, Kenya! I'm a remote worker, so I have the luxury of being able to hop around (assuming I can find reliable wifi!). I spent my formative years farming in Ontario, managing an organic farm for about 11 years. I also co-owned a restaurant and picked up a university degree in history along the way. I'm a big nerd (Star Wars and D&D anyone?) and spend my free time reading, writing, hiking, and dabbling in chess. Looking forward to meeting some fellow travellers!
  22. Hey everyone! I just started my channel and I'm wondering what's the best advice for someone to start a channel from the beginning? Would love to hear your experiences! thanks!
  23. Welcome to the Hopscotch the Globe Community Forum!

Awesome! Should we post an intro here or in a separate thread?
  24. Hey Hopscotchers! Welcome to the Hopscotch the Globe Community Forum. This is the place where you can ask all of your questions, get answers and make friends with like minded people from all around the world. Sign up to join the community and post away! - Kristen
  25. Hey friends! Over the past 4 years since I made the below video, I've received hundreds of emails and messages from many of you who are also going through or have gone through Post Travel Depression. Coming home from a life changing trip can be challenging. The one things you need to know if you're having a hard time coping is that you're not alone. The best thing to do is to talk about it. This is a safe place for you to discuss your feelings without any judgement. What you're feeling is completely normal. If you haven't seen the below video, give it a watch. I really hope it helps you to start understanding what you're going through and again that you're not alone. Love Kristen.
